BURBANK, September 19, 2002 . . . Nine-year-old Spencer and his magical pet pig, Sunny, must use their powers of imagination to escape from the school's weirdest kid, Dad's horrible cooking and evil strawberries in the refrigerator, on the anime comedy "Tokyo Pig" airing SATURDAYS (10:00-10:30 a.m., ET/PT) on ABC Family kids' action/adventure line-up. Subversive and visually kinetic, "Tokyo Pig" follows the fantastic adventures of nine-year-old Spencer and Sunny, his magical pet pig, after Spencer discovers he has the ability to make whatever he imagines come to life.
In "Invasion of the Pig Clones" episode, premiering SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (10:00 a.m., ET/PT), Spencer forgets his gym bag and his mom sends Sunny to school to deliver it. When Sunny and Spencer quickly become the center of attention at school, class nerd Wigstaff kidnaps Sunny and downloads his brain into a supercomputer. With his own manufactured pig, Wigstaff hopes to recapture the treasured "Weirdest Kid in School" title.
During "Dad is the Worst Cook in the World" episode, premiering SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 (10:00 a.m., ET/PT), Spencer's mom wins an all-expenses paid vacation and leaves the kids with their dad for the weekend. While thrilled at the chance to study undisturbed, Spencer is not so happy about the prospect of eating his father's terrible cooking. Faced with a disgusting lizard stew, Spencer -- with Sunny's help -- dreams up a way to derail his mother's trip and bring her back home.
In "A Bitter Fruit" episode, premiering SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5 (10:00 a.m., ET/PT), Spencer reaches into the refrigerator for a banana and is transported with Sunny to Fruit-Land (inside the refrigerator) where they accidentally overhear the evil strawberries' secret plan to make the other fruit less edible.
The principal voices on the series include Joshua Seth as Spencer, Dorothy Fahn as Mom, Wally Wingert as Dad, Colleen O'Shaughnessy as Dizzie Lizzie and Diane Michelle as Weather Lady.
